Although the facts of bullying are out there for anyone to find out and everyday we hear of more and more bullying stories, I still feel as that for a long time, bullying was being accepted as part of life and growing up.
Bullying can start off so small but can quickly grow to such a point where the bullying victim feels there is no way out apart from ending their life. This is just so tragic an outcome and researching this topic has certainly stirred up a lot of emotion in me.
This video is a memorial of several kids and young adolescents that took their own life purely as a result of being bullied.
You will see that these children are not “freaks” or “weirdos” but normal looking and acting, everyday kids with parents that love them and friends around them at one stage or another. Our questions are what happened? What caused this outcome and was there anything that could have been done to avert such a devastating outcome?
Please watch the video. It is not morbid but will stir up some emotion. The reality of bullying is that the prevalence of suicide in bullying victims is on the rise. We must be totally aware that our own children can just as easily be caught up in this and we must do whatever it takes to make sure they never feel the only way out is death.
“Never stop listening, educating and loving our kids!”
